New York, NY - (Feb. 1, 2005)

High-level executives from the entertainment, marketing and media fields will descend upon New York City’s prestigious Ziegfeld Theatre on February 8th for the first annual The Insiders’ Ball to discuss and celebrate all things related to the business of movies. Hosted by cinema advertising leader Screenvision, The Insiders’ Ball promises to be a captivating and extraordinary gathering of executives and industry personalities and will feature an A-list panel of keynote speakers, highlighted by a roundtable discussion moderated by James Lipton, famed host of ‘Inside the Actors Studio’ on Bravo and Dean Emeritus of The Actors Studio Drama School of New School University.

“This is a one-of-a-kind event for the movie industry and New York City that will provide a wide cross-section of executives involved in the movie business the opportunity to hear the unique perspectives of colleagues who truly move and shake the industry everyday,” said Stu Ballatt, senior vice president of marketing for Screenvision. “There is no other event that we know of that brings us together in a forum such as this, one that includes engaging presentations of disparate viewpoints along with lively debate and dialogue.”

The event will be attended by hundreds of executives from the worlds of entertainment, marketing and media.

“Screenvision set out to build an event that will be viewed as highly valuable to our industry colleagues,” Ballatt continued. “In The Insiders’ Ball, we are confident we have done just that. We’re proud to be making this annual contribution to the analysis and celebration of the movie business.”

Confirmed panelists include the following prolific senior industry executives:

  • Fred Nelson, vice president of editorial development for Entertainment Weekly, America’s leading consumer magazine of entertainment and popular culture and winner of four National Magazine Awards. Nelson is responsible for extending the magazine’s brand and editorial franchises while also translating editorial features into marketing platforms.

He has the knowledge and the capability to talk about any and all facets of the motion picture industry and is a gifted interviewer with an uncanny ability to elicit from his interviewees the details and inside information the audience wants to hear.”

Screenvision chose the Ziegfeld Theatre for this event in recognition of its status as a true New York City motion picture landmark.

“The Ziegfeld Theatre is a true treasure of New York City. As one of the last movie palaces in the city and a popular location for high profile movie premieres, we could not think of a better venue for a gathering of this kind,” commented Ballatt.

Doors at the Ziegfeld Theatre will open at 3:30 p.m. Screenvision CEO Matthew Kearney will open the festivities with a welcome address at 4 p.m. to be followed by keynote speakers’ presentations which will each run five to ten minutes in length.
