Screenvision Partners with E! Networks to Provide Preshow Entertainment for Moviegoers
NEW YORK, NY - (Oct. 11, 2005)
Initiative to Spotlight Popular Shows from E! And Style Network In Screenvision’s High Definition Digital and Analog Cinema Preshows
Screenvision, the global leader in cinema advertising, has formed a partnership with E! Networks, the world's authority on entertainment and celebrity news, to place entertainment content and media into Screenvision's digital and analog preshows across nearly 15,000 movie screens nationwide. The alliance foreshadows the continuing development of cinema advertising preshows into entertainment-based programming for moviegoers.
For Screenvision's high definition digital pre-show, E! Networks will provide monthly content segments derived from E! and Style Network's most-popular programs. Meanwhile, through the partnership, E! Networks will become the exclusive provider of general entertainment trivia for Screenvision's analog pre-show. Entertainment trivia is a long-time cinema pre-show standard and remains one of the most popular elements of pre-show entertainment among movie goers. Additionally, the partnership provides E! Networks with access to on-screen and in-lobby promotional media to support programming through traditional commercial messaging.
“E! is a preeminent brand in entertainment with programming and talent that resonate well among young adults, the predominant movie-going demographic” said Jason Brown, senior vice president of national ad sales for Screenvision. This partnership is a true win for all parties, as it will provide highly impactful branding and promotional support for E! while entertaining moviegoers in advance of the feature presentation.”
Under the new arrangement, E! will produce a monthly content segment for Screenvision's Digital Preshow. E! segments will vary in nature, drawn from fanfavorite shows including "Live from the Red Carpet." Additionally, E! will likely create original material for the Digital Preshow featuring network talent such as Joel McHale of E!'s "The Soup." New E! programs will also "bow" via Screenvision. Isaac Mizrahi will be featured in a piece produced for Screenvision's November show, dovetailing with the launch of his new Style Network series "Isaac."
"Our partnership with Screenvision is a perfect fit for our brand and an innovative new way to reach our target demo and fans of the category," said Suzanne Kolb, senior vice president, marketing, E! Networks. "Screenvision and E! share a similar audience -- fans of entertainment and celebrity news. By featuring E! segments in Screenvision's Digital Preshow, we are sure to enhance the audience's time at the movies."
In cinema advertising has become an increasingly attractive category to marketers over the last several years, as it marks an effective way to reach the coveted 18-34 demographic. According to the Cinema Advertising Council, industry revenues are up 23%, to $438 million in 2004.
